When I first started keto (5.5 years ago!), I read

When I first started keto (5.5 years ago!), I read that the keto diet could be used as an adjunct therapy for cancer patients. Cool!! I thought … but I never dove in to what that REALLY meant, until last fall….. when my sister was rushed into emergency brain surgery, unexpectedly, after we discovered she had a large brain tumor. After emergency surgery 3 days later, found out the tumor was the most aggressive form of Brain Cancer there is - Glioblastoma, grade 4. The prognosis is NOT good, even after standard treatment: a triple combo of surgery,6 weeks of daily radiation alongside daily chemo, and then months of maintenance chemo afterwards.
I had HAPPENED, to be in the MIDDLE of reading *Radical Remission* when my sister first went to the hospital. I don’t even know why I picked it up in the first place- out of my curiosity for health, longevity & wellness. Perhaps fate had a hand in me picking the book up 🤷🏼‍♀️. That was the first of MANY MANY books that I binged about cancer. EACH and EVERY book I picked up made at least a notable mention (some entire books were related to the concept) of utilizing the keto diet for cancer, & SPECIFICALLY noting it’s potential to shrink or halt the growth glioblastoma brain tumors. Researching #ketoforcancer, has quickly become my passion & OBSESSION. Cancer feeds off glucose ( carbs!), so taking away its fuel source can halt or slow its progression.
The majority of people doing keto are doing it for weight loss, for metabolic health or to heal/ manage medical conditions(PCOS, Epilepsy,migraines,diabetes, etc). Now I realize there is NOT enough emphasis in this community for it’s potential benefit for cancer patients. Current Data says that 50% of Americans will be DIRECTLY affected by Cancer in their life!
I want to shine as much light on the hope keto has for helping cancer patients moving forward. Whether thru easy keto recipes that are jam-packed with super potent healthful ingredients or sharing what I’ve learned about what powerful cancer fighting foods are keto friendly and we should include in our diets!

My keto gluten-free lupin flour pasta recipe so many of you have been asking me for is finally posted! I have added it to my blog ( with the recipe video) so I could include all the details on the bazillion ways you can make, shape, dry, and store, this amazing pasta! I literally covered EVERYTHING 🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝

My favorite method is using my @kitchenaidusa pasta press attachment ( not sponsored) because it’s the easiest, fastest and makes the best shapes! However there’s other methods too! See my previous post for a video that shows ALL the methods you can use to make this recipe!

If it's possible to REVOLUTIONIZE the ketogenic diet with ONE simple recipe, it's going to BE THIS ONE 🤣🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. Keto pasta that ACTUALLY tastes good- like, REALLY good. It’s super easy to make at home, only 5 g net carbs per serving, and it is jam PACKED WITH PROTEIN! Yes, I copied the lulupasta protein noodles to make this recipe ( by reverse engineering their label), but ultimately changed a few things for even BETTER taste , texture, versatility ( like almond flour instead of sunflower seed flower). Not to mention is will save you $$$$ to make it yourself!!

You can mix the pasta dough by hand/fork (just like they do in Italy), and after that - the SKY IS THE LIMIT- because this dough will take on MANY different shapes and sizes! You can choose to hand roll & cut it, roll it in a pasta roller, or put into a pasta PRESS (aka an extruder). THEN you can enjoy FRESH homemade keto pasta OR you can dry it and store in your pantry for quick future meals (this is SO easy to do)! Loads of options, and I've tested them all!

Keto Creamy Chicken Marsala mini recipe video!!!

This is one of the first recipes I added to my blog when I finally decided to start documenting and sharing my keto-friendly recipe creations (full recipe linked in bio, just scroll down). For some reason, this recipe is a huge hit with husbands 😂! My hubby declares(every time I make this), that this is his #1 favorite of all my recipes, and I have multiple comments on my blog in THIS recipe from a ton of ladies saying that the their non-keto hubby loved and devoured THIS 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️🙌🏼 ! so, I’ll call this one the HUBBY PLEASER 😳 🤣🤣🤣. My daughter loves it too tho!

Traditional Chicken Marsala does not use cream, and has quite a bit more Marsala wine used in it! Marsala Wine is very sweet & high carb IF you use too much, so I reduced the amount enough to make it very carb friendly without sacrificing that delicious flavor! I added the cream because, well it’s amazing that way, giving it a rich taste where the cream balances the sweetness of the Marsala perfectly! I also use butter, shallots, and garlic for aromatics & the flavor they impart are 💯, especially alongside the cremini Mushrooms ( that add some umami)! Lastly, I reduce down chicken broth ( I like @kettleandfire chicken broth) to bulk up the sauce and further the flavor.

Keto-Friendly & GLUTEN-FREE low carb pasta recipe

Keto-Friendly & GLUTEN-FREE low carb pasta recipe coming!!!!

I have been loving the luluprotein pasta , which is made mainly with lupin flour ( which you all know how much I LOVE my lupin flour!!!!). The lulupasta is great, but a little pricey and takes a week to get here out in the countryside 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I think I’ve created a super legit copycat recipe!!! I used all the same ingredients as the lulupasta & just reverse engineered it to get my starting recipe amounts via the ingredient label, dried weights, macros and quite a bit of math🤣🤓. My recipe, so far, has almost the exact same macros, and possibly an ever so slightly better taste 😜 (I tried adding 2 teensy additional ingredients I’m lovin!). I am still testing ( sorry NO recipe yet!) because I want to test almond flour as a sub for sunflower seed flour, and I’m playing with the amount of xantham gum to find the sweet spot that will provide that little bit of chew, without sacrificing noodle shape or ease of kneading the dough! I did find that increasing the xantham gum ( although it makes a stiffer dough) resulted in a gluten-free pasta dough that held together so dang well I could roll it out with a rolling pin SUPER unbelievably thin - which means ……. some awesome keto tagliatelle noodles, pappardelle noodles, potstickers 🥟, raviolis, and maybe even tortellini’s are in our NEAR future my friends!!!!

I am SO excited about this! I have loads of pasta sauce recipes to go with it too! I’ll continue testing dough recipe variations this week, new pasta shapes, and pasta making methods ( ie my pasta roller vs hand roll vs using my @kitchenaidusa pasta press attachment which is AMAZING btw etc). I plan on nailing every detail down & sharing this recipe by next week hopefully 🤞🏼

P.S. I also tested air drying this pasta ( which I learned how to do from Marcella Hazan !) so that I can make big batches & be able to store it all in my pantry for few months until I’m ready to use it 🙌🏼!!!!!

Keto Asian “chicken” lettuce wraps! “Chicken

Keto Asian “chicken” lettuce wraps! “Chicken” because I actually used lean ground turkey since I can’t find lean organic ground chicken here! These are a little higher on carb scale, but still fit into my macros & adjustments to lower more are below! 🤷🏼‍♀️. Also“premier Japan Asian fusion” hoisin sauce is Only 3 g net carbs per serving ( that’s vital!). These are a huge family hit (I serve them with white rice 🍚 to add into hubby & daughters lettuce cups)

Ingredients:
1/4 of an onion, chopped
2 TBSPs 🥑 oil
1-2 pinches Salt
1 lb ground turkey or ground chicken
10-12 mushrooms, chopped
8 oz can of water chestnuts, chopped *see note
Cooking Sauce:
2 TBSPs allulose
3 TBSPs Hoisin Sauce
3 TBSPs soy sauce
1 TBSP Rice Vinegar
1 tsp mirin ( or dry sherry), optional!
2 tsps Oyster Sauce ( or sub soy)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1 TBSP no sugar peanut butter ♥️ @santacruzorganic dark roasted!!)

Additional:
Lettuce, chopped green onions, julienned carrots ( optional!), crushed peanuts, and @tigersauceofficial

*8 oz of water chestnuts = 8 carbs only & this serves 4!!! They add a textural crunch that’s 🔥

1.) mix sauce ingredients together with a whisk & set aside.
2.) heat oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey ( or chicken) , a pinch of salt and brown the meat ( cook thru). Add water chestnuts & mushrooms. Cook 3-5 minutes. Add sauce,stir, let simmer, stirring occasionally until thickened(2-3 mins). Remove from heat.
3.) take a lettuce cup ( butter lettuce works great for kiddos!), Scoop in the meat, Top with a few green onions, peanuts and julienned carrots ( I use barely any, less than a carb of shreds on mine), and the tiniest dab of the 💣 tiger sauce ( 1/2 a tsp or less per wrap because too much does =carbs).
🚨 addiction warning!!!!! So good!

As is they’re 8 net carbs/ serving before toppings (4 servings)! If you cut water chestnuts in half they’ll be 7.5 net carbs /serving & if you sub dry sherry for mirin & soy sauce for oyster sauce: 6.5 net carbs/serving. So adjust if u need for carb counts! 😬

You all said you wanted me to post my keto creamy

You all said you wanted me to post my keto creamy tomato soup I made in my @instantpotofficial the other day, so here it is!
First, I made my low carb challah bread (full recipe link in bio), but instead of braiding it, I shaped it into a log, and let it rise in an oiled bread pan, then baked it in the bread pan same time & temp as recipe! I sliced & grilled it for the best low carb grilled cheese ever ( + this high protein bread made this a complete meal 🙌🏼)! It gave me all the cold weather, warm, creamy, flavorful, soup vibes. paired with my low carb grilled cheese equaled full blown low carb NOSTALGIA! 🤤

Ingredients:
2 TBSP butter (salted)
1/3 of a sweet onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1.5 TBSPs tomato paste
1 (14.5 oz) can diced, FIRE ROASTED! tomatoes
1 large garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons allulose
2 cups chicken stock
7-8 fresh basil leaves, chopped ( or sub 2 tsps dried)
1/3 cup heavy cream
3 large pinches of salt ( more to taste 🤷🏼‍♀️)
1-2 tbsp shredded cheddar cheese ( optional, but yum)

1.) add butter, onion, celery, and large pinch of salt to instantpot and turn to sauté function. Sauté while stirring occasionally 5-6 minutes. Turn off sauté.
2.) add in tomato paste, fire roasted 🍅, garlic, allulose, and chicken stock, another pinch of salt, & Stir. Turn instantpot to 10 minute cook time. Release pressure after it’s done & transfer mix to a blender.
3.) add basil & blend on high until no chunks remain and it’s smooth! Pour back into instantpot. Whisk in heavy cream and turn sauté back on. Sauté 3-5 minutes, until bubbling. Turn off, taste for any additional salt needs, and toss in a little shredded cheddar ( I like sharp kind!) and whisk until smoothly incorporated. Serve!!!
Keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days and reheats in microwave fantastically!

here’s how I made the sugarfree berry compote, that goes AMAZING on low carb French toast with whip cream! I used a frozen berry mix with blueberries, strawberries, Marionberries, and blackberries! This has a decent amount of natural sugars from the berries, so you still have to use it sparingly, just like a jam ( but WAY tastier!). I calculated about 3 carbs per two tablespoons ish! It’s got hints of vanilla and fresh baked berry pie flavor vibes!!!! After all, a berry compote is essentially a berry pie sans pie crust 🙌🏼.

I used:
1 lb frozen mixed berries
3-4 tablespoons of @wholesomesweet allulose syrup (or sub 5 Tbsps granulated Allulose+ 1 tsp water)
1 teaspoon real lemon juice
A large pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Put your frozen berries, allulose syrup, salt, and lemon juice in and bring to a boil. Let it boil for 5 mins, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to a strong simmer, and let simmer away for
Another 7-8 minutes! Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and transfer to a bowl to cook down. It becomes more thick/syrupy as it cools because of the allulose 😉

Another way I LOVE to use this berry compote is to stir it into plain low carb greek yogurt! I still haven’t found a keto yogurt with all the flavor vibes I’m into, and adding a REAL fruit compote makes a 🔥 yogurt flavor!!!! also tastes 💣 on keto vanilla ice cream!!!!!

One of the best breakfasts I’ve had on keto 🙌🏼 Low Carb French Toast- using my low carb challah bread recipe! You can find the challah bread recipe on my blog (just change it to a loaf shape and baked in a greased bread pan for this shape or keep it shaped as a challah braid if you prefer!).

Here’s my French toast recipe (enough for 11-12 slices):

3 large eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup of @fairlife (low carb) whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp @lakanto Monkfruit sweetener ( white, granulated!)
Lots of freshly grated nutmeg (fresh =important!)
Few dashes of Cinnamon (to taste)

Whisk it all together until the eggs have been fully blended in.
Heat your griddle to medium, butter it up, and soak each slice of low carb challah bread for just a quick second! Grill 1-3 mins each side.

I made a mixed berry sugar-free compote to go on top and sugarfree fresher whipped heavy cream, and it MADE this dish!!! I’ll share the berry compote tomorrow, because 🔥 it’s necessary to eat with this!

You donut want to miss this one my friends! I finally posted my low carb donut recipe 💃. This recipe is similar to my challah and brioche dough ( sorry NOT gluten-free) just with adjustments to make the dough a little : softer (with more fats added, almond milk, slightly more butter, and egg yolks only!) a little sweeter ( especially with the glazes), and even better tasting!!! Swipe to see that interior crumb 👌🏼 They’re UNDER 1.5 g net carbs per 🍩 and packed with PROTEIN 💪🏽 too 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I’ve included dairy free options, if that’s your thang ( they’re just as good that way!), and I highly recommend a cold, slow, overnight rise on these guys! Because... who doesn’t love fresh fried donuts in the morning anyways ? Plus, longer fermentation = much better dough flavor!

Since many of you love my keto chocolate chip lupin flour cookies - I had to make a chocolate version!! it’s basically the same recipe with 🤣 just a few modifications and extra ingredients ( less almond flour & I sifted it to get the larger almond grains out, added @valrhonausa cocoa powder, chill the dough, lower the baking time a smidge, etc!). They still have all those crinkly cracks you all love and a bit of a chewy gooey center (and you still get to do the PAN-BANG with these babies 💃 the fun part!!)! Since I first created this chocolate keto cookie recipe last month on my dairy free keto “test” month ( just wanted to see if I had a dairy ‘sensitivity’ 🤷🏼‍♀️) I can vouch that they work great as a dairy free recipe too ( optional of course!). To make it without dairy, I subbed ‘vegan butter cultured butter with salt’ ( by @miyokoscreamery which is THE BEST🙌🏼) for the butter, used the dark @lilys_sweets baking chips ( the dark baking chips no milk in them!), and added a little butter extract as well for that version! They were just as good without the dairy , and I actually might have liked them better 🤷🏼‍♀️😬 can’t decide! Lol. I put instructions for either option in the recipe tho!

I also made another fun lil recipe video for it , so that you can see how easy they are to make and to capture the ‘PAN-BANG’ in action ( and visually see how it creates those cracks & crinkles too ! 😘

Sharing my latest low carb recipe experiment... I made low carb yeasted doughnuts 🍩! Some with Krispy Kreme style glaze ( made with allulose 🙌🏼) and some with sugarfree/dairy free chocolate glaze and sprinkles ( at my 4 year olds request). I used my low carb brioche recipe as my base and adjusted for further enrichment ( almond milk for some water since I’m dairy free Keto this month!), more fats, vegan coconut oil based butter, egg yolks only, adjusted hydration appropriately, increased sweetness and salt, and shaped differently! I let them rise in the fridge overnight for optimal flavor, then fried them this morning! Even surprised myself with how amazing they turned out 🤣 I will be filming a recipe video, polishing up my recipe a bit ( lower fry temp & measuring when I make the glazes!) and then sharing this recipe sometime this week! 🍩🍩🍩🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! This is my latest recipe ( posted now on my blog - link in bio ) for a keto Yule Log Cake. It’s a soft and moist chocolate sponge cake ( that rolls without breaking easily!), brushed with a sugarfree espresso simple syrup ( made in 5 mins), filled with sugarfree vanilla marscapone whip, and topped with sugarfree chocolate ganache frosting!!! @lilys_sweets really helps make the best keto friendly chocolate ganache frosting! If you’ve never had chocolate ganache FROSTING you are missing out my friends- it’s rich, decadent, and SUPER easy to make.

🍞 Low Carb Challah Bread🍞
I adjusted my low carb brioche recipe to turn it into a Low Carb Challah Bread Loaf ( and meant to post this during 🕎 ). Here’s the changes I made: 2 extra egg yolks, less water (to account for more eggs), more sweetener, more salt, oil in place of butter (to make it kosher), used a different shaping method obv! and an EGG WHITE wash. And.. it created a jaw-droppingly beautiful, shiny, 4 strand braided loaf! It’s JUST as easy as the low carb brioche recipe with the exact same kneading process, and the shaping is actually easier than it looks!! This enriched dough, in comparison to the brioche, is a little springier, a little sweeter tasting, and slightly richer! It makes for some awesome #thicc slices 🙌🏼. I can tell you already, it’s going to make KILLER low carb challah French toast. I made a low carb challah French toast casserole with it yesterday that we were in love with (that recipe is to come shortly!). And I also grilled a slice of the challah bread with butter slathered on it, and that piece may have been the most deliciously rich and tasty piece of low carb toast ever. 🤷🏼‍♀️

IF you’re a newbie to bread baking (low carb or NOT), you CAN do this! I have heaped in loads of instructions and details in the blog/recipe (which is NOW linked in my bio!) so that you can’t mess it up. All you need (or KNEAD 🤣 I should say 😅) is a stand mixer with a dough hook, plus the special low carb flour ingredients ( lupin flour, oat fiber, and vital wheat gluten), allulose, eggs, water, kosher salt & yeast and you will be ready to roll !! 🙂

For the macros: I made 14 VERY THICK slices with one loaf, and came out 1.7 g net carbs per slice. And have lots of protein which makes it an ideal snack imo! You can certainly slice it thinner if you want more slices though!

I’d love to hear what you all have planned on your keto thanksgiving menu?!🦃 we do a big thanksgiving family feast - with low-carbers & carb-lovers alike which means I try to make keto dishes that blend in on the table with the rest. Here’s my contributions this year! The ones in the photos are the ones I have recipes posted for them on my blog & the rest are yet to come ( maybe next year lol!)😬
🌟 Sugarfree Glazed pecan, goat cheese, pear salad with sugarfree maple balsamic Vinaigrette (link to whole recipe in my bio). Including the SF glazed pecans recipe. My family special requested this one they loved it so much last year!

🌟 sugar-free wine! I will definitely be drinking wine and I don’t want ANY extra carbs from wines that have “mystery” carbs. With @dryfarmwines I know EXACTLY what’s in my glass - under 1 gram of sugar, very low in sulfates, organic, Natural wine! And it’s the best tasting wine I’ve ever had. (Link in my bio for a promotion getting 1 extra bottle for only a penny with your order!!!)
My sister in laws making keto green bean casserole and my moms doing the turkey and some other veggies! That’s it for the low carb stuff but it will be more than enough with leftovers to spare 🙂 🙏🏼

Move over classic Pumpkin Pie, because you just got bumped for Double the Deliciousness!!!! It’s a luscious, Creamy, “Layered” Pumpkin Cheesecake. First, there’s a brown butter almond flour crust, then a layer of rich NY Style Cheesecake, and on top is the creamiest dang pumpkin cheesecake you’ve ever had (that actually tastes like pumpkin pie!). I use a combo of allulose (mainly) and a little erythritol to make this low carb pumpkin cheesecake have the SAME SMOOTH texture as the real deal. I made this last year, instead of pumpkin pie, & this was the first time I have EVER not made or at least eaten a classic pumpkin pie on thanksgiving… and guess what? I don’t regret it for a SECOND. This is my new, FOREVER, Thanksgiving dessert table contribution! And that says something- coming from a DIE-HARD pumpkin pie fan. To me, thanksgiving without a true pumpkin pie was like Christmas without presents (its JUST not right). I even HAVE to eat my thanksgiving pumpkin pie for breakfast the day AFTER thanksgiving (it’s tradition okay- mom told me “pumpkins are veggies so you can eat itfor breakfast LOL). BUT THIS…. Oh my word, this is better. And I don’t think I will ever go back to the classic again.

These are my keto chocolate chip lupin flour cookies ( link to recipe in bio). I added @lilys_sweets milk chocolate peanut butter cups on top of each one once they had baked for 7 mins (gently pressing the PB cup on) and had started spreading in the oven, then finished baking for 5 more minutes. After the cookies cooled( and I swatted hubbies eager hands away 50 times) I melted @lilys_sweets milk chocolate baking chips gently and slowly in the microwave til they just got melty. I put the melted chocolate in a ziploc bag, snipped the tip and piped the gooey chocolate on top of the Pb cup , adding legs and a head and little spidey fangs!

These turned out tastier than any carby candy bar! Much healthier alternative keeping us keto today!!
We’ll be having a Halloween social distancing “glow in the dark” dragon egg hunt tonight with a few of the kids in our cul de sac to celebrate All Hallows’ eve instead of trick or treating 😷 .
